The Belgian Federal Government Debt amounted to EUR 407.32 billion as of 30 June 2016. Debt issued or taken over by the federal government amounted to EUR 407.04
billion, and the institutions for which the federal government supports the debt service, registered a debt of EUR 0.28 billion.
In net terms (i.e. deducting financial deposits and investments, as well as securities owned by the Treasury), the Federal Government Debt amounted to EUR 391.80 billion.
On the occasion of the National Day on 21 July this year, the FPS Chancellery of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Defence, the FPS Home Affairs, and the Federal and Local Police, in close collaboration with the Syndicat d’initiative Bruxelles Promotion, organise a series of events in Brussels for the general public.
