Press facilities
Time is a precious commodity in the world of journalism. This is something that the International Press Center knows all too well. All that journalists need to work and to deliver their copy on time, this is permanently available in the press centre.
The newsroom (Media 1)
Journalists from the printed media can use the newsroom on the first floor where up to twenty people can work simultaneously. It has connections for laptops and printers and photocopiers are provided. Wi-Fi internet access is free.
Press conferences held in the Polak room can be followed live using a closed-circuit plasma screen.
The 'cockpits' (Media 2)
Journalists who need to work in private, can use one of the ‘cockpits’: each one is equipped with a computer and printer.
Radio facilities
There are four radio rooms offering live transmission from the presscenter.org.
TV facilities
Audiovisual services in the presscenter.org are provided by the company ENG Videohouse. From its central editing suite, Videohouse can provide all the audiovisual support you may need, wherever you are in the building – in a conference room or elsewhere.
During live events the images can be transmitted by satellite and captured using the ‘uplink’ installation. Mobile transmitters and mobile newsrooms can plug-in in the car park and send or receive signals to or from the building.
A recording studio with various editing rooms and a commentary room complete our audiovisual facilities.
Journalists@YourService (J@YS)
Journalists’ associations from Belgium and abroad have their own service centres on the second floor of the presscenter.org: Journalist@YourService. This offers professional advice, assistance and services for journalists working in Brussels.
